Permissions, made simple.
A drone show is flown under India’s Drone Rules, 2021. MyShoot handles the clearances for your show; this page explains what is involved so you know what to expect.
Airspace: green, yellow and red zones
India’s DigitalSky airspace map divides the country into green, yellow and red zones. Yellow zones (for example near airports) need permission from air traffic control, and red zones need permission from the central government, which is rarely practical for an event. We check your venue on the map first; this is why some venues close to airports can’t host a show.
Registered drones and certified pilots
Drones flown in India must be registered, and the flight team must hold remote pilot certificates. Ask any provider for these.
Venue and local permissions
The venue owner’s written consent is always needed. Depending on the city and the size of the crowd, local police or district authorities may also need to be informed or give permission. We prepare the documents with you and tell you early what applies to your location.

- Weather checksWind and rain are checked through the day, with a backup time agreed in advance.

Permissions: questions people ask
Do we need permission for a drone show in India?
Yes. The venue must be in permitted airspace, the drones must be registered and flown by certified pilots, and venue and local permissions may be needed. MyShoot Drone Shows handles these clearances as part of the show.
Can a drone show be done near an airport?
Areas near airports are usually yellow or red zones that need special permission, so many such venues are not possible. We check the exact location before you book.
Who applies for the permissions?
MyShoot prepares and applies for the clearances with the client’s help, such as the venue owner’s consent letter.
